Old Illustrations

While writing the novel, I did a number of drawings, mostly for
my own amusement. Some of them certainly don't deserve to be treated
as public art, but the development process may be of interest.
They're presented here in chronological order, as near as I can remember.
More will appear as I dig them out and scan them.
Ash Trine

Ashleigh Trine I think this was an early experiment with Photopaint. I used a picture of myself as the base image. That's probably why he's so lopsided.

Kieran Trevarde

Kieran Trevarde Same process as above, only I spent a lot longer on it, and used an actor as the base image. If you can guess which one, you get a cookie.

Braid

Braid Embarrassingly sappy, not finished, anatomically questionable. But I did this before I had a drawing tablet, so I forgive myself.

*Tats*

Tats An interesting mix of good and execrable. I think I gave up when that smear happened. Acrylic ink was not yet a friend of mine.

**

Storm Despite some awkwardness, I actually like this one quite a bit. I was starting to get the hang of acrylic inks. My idea of what an early semiauto pistol looks like finally solidified, the tattoos are pretty decent, and Ash no longer looks like a Weasley.
